Crossing Over
There’s a great opening tonight for the art show “Home Grown” at Cornelius Arts Center. I have a piece in the show, “Crossing Over,” and there will be many, many great pieces by local artists. If you live in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, come out! It’ll be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the artist talk at 7:00 (I’m one of the speakers).

Last Night of “Story”

And so we come to the end of the story. Night 3 of my show “Story” takes place tomorrow night beginning at 7:30 p.m. at OTPH in Cornelius, NC. The Facebook invitation is here. I’ll share stories (my own and the art’s) 8ish. I’m so thankful to all the people I’ve met and all the support I’ve received–and a chance to know that when we share stories, we touch each other and remind each other that we’re not alone–and that there’s always hope.
Fog in the Cemetery

I was on my way to the library when I just had to stop and take a few shots of the beautiful fog in the cemetery nearby. Sometimes fog softens the background and we see our pain and desires simply, starkly.
“Story” Opens Next Tuesday!

If you’re in or near the Charlotte-Lake Norman, NC area next Tuesday evening (November 17), come see me! It’s the opening of “Story.” The opening is at Old Town Public House in Cornelius, NC and starts at 7:30 p.m. Here’s the Facebook invitation.
The name “Story” refers to the stories told by the visual images in and of themselves, the mini-fairy tale-like stories (and fables) I’ve written to accompany the Eternal Childhood series (a series that features children in fantastic, magical, or dreamlike scenarios/places), and my own account of healing childhood trauma, which I’ve never talked about publicly before. Monday will recount the beginning of my healing journey, discussing six works of art in relation to it. Discussion of more art and more of my journey will follow in two more receptions–one in December, one in January. If you’re in the area, come out!
October Fine Art America Contest Wins and My First Solo Show!

I had two third place contest wins at Fine Art America in October!
“To Touch the Moon” won third place in the contest “Enchanted.”
“Muse” won again (!), this time a third place win in “Best Digital Art on FAA.”
But the best news is that both of these images will be part of my first solo show called “Story,” which opens Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Old Town Public House in Cornelius, NC. The show will run for three months, and the reception will be full of “story” in both image and word form. More details coming soon!!
Fog and Autumn Leaves on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Beautiful drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway today. In and out of the fog, sometimes so dense you could barely see the trees. But here and there a pocket opened up and I could get a shot or two in with my iPhone. I’m a sucker for both fog (as some of you know) and the brilliant colors of fall leaves.
